over the next year the airport  is to finish major renovations to the front of airport and the parking lot. of course the realty is this work will take twice as long to complete because the general contractor suffers no penalty for not finishing job on time. however when complete this should prepare the airport for the next 25 years of growth providing a west coast carrier is added to the airline service lineup. one thing is for sure a new carrier will have to be owned by the same company that owns american eagle because american eagle is truly the boss of abilene regional airport
